The primary responsibilities of the Wintel Engineer, Cloud Operations

Security Infrastructure Management: Assist in the management and configuration of security infrastructure components, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) tools, and other security technologies.
Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Contribute to security monitoring efforts by analyzing security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents. Collaborate with the incident response team in investigating and resolving security breaches.
Identity and Access Management (IAM): Assist in the management and administration of IAM solutions, including user provisioning, access controls, and authentication mechanisms. Ensure secure access to systems and data through the implementation of role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Security Compliance: Support compliance efforts by assisting in the adherence to relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIA). Contribute to security audits and assessments to ensure organizational compliance.
Security Controls Enhancement: Collaborate with the security team and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for enhancing security controls and processes. Contribute to the design and implementation of security solutions based on industry best practices.
Cloud Security: Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures specific to cloud environments, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). Contribute to the design and configuration of security controls, such as network security groups, access management, encryption, and logging, to ensure the secure use of cloud services.
Be responsible for the delivery of cloud service management services.
Collate, maintain, and report against SLAs for the Cloud Infrastructure
Maintained an up-to-date understanding of Cloud technology base and a general understanding of other technology bases.
Applies technical expertise and an understanding of business needs to design and develop innovative solutions in the cloud.
Ability to plan hardware capacity requirements for storage, memory, and CPU Cycles.
Understanding of UNIX environment with shell scripting.
Experience in designing, planning, and implementing cloud-based solutions.
Ensure that the bottlenecks in the Cloud infrastructure are identified and fine-tuning is done for optimal performance.
In depth knowledge of cloud IaaS and PaaS services.
Communicate effectively with clients on both a business, technical and operation level.
Ability to produce high quality High- and low-level design within his technical discipline.
Influence and execute the product strategy and roadmap for MEEZA’s core services.
Manage the product engineering line life cycle from conceptualization to tactical activities for products and services within his technical discipline.
Ensure the product/services are fully integrated into MEEZA’s management tools.
Maintain a complete, documented technical standard and baseline for his respective discipline.
Develop and engineer non-standard solutions where required ensuring there is a route to standardization and further monetization of that effort.
Provide operational and technical support as the highest level of expertise within MEEZA.
To work within structured and defined service management practices (Incident, Change, Configuration, Problem Management, Release Management, etc.)
Provide quality assurance validation and verification of Change and Release Management processes.
To provide a technical lead presence in the implementation of client solutions
Continually improve build, release, and installation process by integrating additional automation systems
To maintain an accurate reflection of all client solutions through Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB), documentation and online portals
Provide clients with clear, concise updates in relation to his solution.
Ability to diagnose various Systems related issues.
Ability to research Systems technical issues and implement resolution strategies when required.
To work and be measured against strict Service Level Agreements
Support the Level 3 Engineers and peers.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Minimum 6 years of experience in a security-related role, with exposure to cloud security.
Solid understanding of security principles, concepts, and best practices across multiple domains (network, system, application, data, etc.).
Familiarity with security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability assessment tools, NGAV/XDR/NDR, deception solutions, DLP etc.
Knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and CIS Benchmarks.
Ability to analyze and interpret security logs, network traffic, and other security-related data.
Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles and technologies.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve security issues.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Relevant security certifications, such as Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), are desirable.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem analysis skills
Operational experience in helping to maintaining complex technology environments.
Understanding of technology and process frameworks including ITIL, CMMI, TIA-942, Zachman and The Uptime Institute
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with specific focus on technical and operational documentation.

Education:

Post-secondary education in IT or related field
Redhat Certifications would be desirable.
