About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our team and take ownership of the security space within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a proactive approach to security, with experience in securing cloud infrastructure, applications, and back-office systems.
In addition to the technical qualifications, the ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members, as well as collaborate effectively with other teams and stakeholders. They will have a track record of driving results and influencing change in a fast-paced environment. As the owner of the security space in the organization, the Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for driving the security strategy and leading security initiatives to protect the organization from potential security risks.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and implement security solutions to protect our systems, applications, and data
- Conduct security assessments and risk analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain security policies and procedures
- Monitor security logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents and respond accordingly
- Participate in incident response and investigation activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices
- Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and industry trends
What You Will Need For This Position
- 5+ years of experience in Information Security
- Strong knowledge of security principles and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, encryption, and secure coding practices
- Experience with AWS security related services (AWS Shield, WAF, Cloudtrail, IAM, Cognito etc)
- Experience with security assessment tools such as Nessus, OpenVAS, or Burp Suite
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or ISO 27001
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Industry standard tools that the ideal candidate should be familiar with include:
- Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
- Firewalls (both network and host-based)
- Vulnerability scanners and assessment tools (e.g. Nessus, OpenVAS, Qualys, Burp Suite)
- Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems
- Cloud Security platforms (e.g. AWS Security Hub)
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams. They will have a passion for security and the ability to think creatively to solve complex security challenges.
